Arab Spring Paintings Censured at Art Dubai

Amongst four paintings, two , both on the subject of the Arab Spring, were withdrawn from the art fair Art Dubai last week: After Washing by Palestinian artist Shadi Al Zaqzouq and You were my only Love by Moroccan artist Zakaria Ramhani. The artists were given no explanations as to why.

NB: In After Washing, the Arabic word means “get lost”.
